After more than 40 years of practice, Mr. Robinson retired in 2021. Mr. Robinson was well-respected by his peers for both his knowledge of the law and his advocacy for his clients.
Mr. Robinson has lived in Gig Harbor since 1977, when there was just one traffic light. He and his wife, both from the East Coast, saw a picture of Mount Rainier on the cover of the Rand McNally map and decided to move west. They packed up their dog and belongings into his wife’s orange Volvo and drove to Tacoma.
That’s when he served with Puget Sound Legal Assistance Foundation in Tacoma, where he began the Senior Citizen Law Project. He became actively involved in senior citizens’ issues and helped form several nonprofit corporations for organizations dedicated to protecting senior citizens. Mr. Robinson also served for 15 years as legal counsel for the veterans at the Washington State Veterans Home in Retail, Washington.
Fluent in French and English, Mr. Robinson opened his private law practice in Gig Harbor, Washington, in 1980, with an emphasis on complex family law litigation, as well as civil litigation.
As he began to do more divorce cases, Mr. Robinson’s practice ultimately became focused on complex custody and divorce matters. He saw so many clients he felt needed protection and so many vulnerable people who did not have the strength to leave abusive relationships and he wanted to be there for them.
He litigated cases with significant property issues, as well as regarding the validity of Prenuptial Agreements and Property Settlement Agreements. Mr. Robinson litigated cases between non-married domestic partners as well as same sex couples.
